Join Pro-Life Christians Praying to Shield Children from Hunger in Virginia
Unfortunately, recent federal budget cuts are projected to slash this essential funding by $186 billion over the next decade. In Virginia alone, more than 440,000 families face losing some or all of their SNAP benefits.
Most urgently, on November 1, more than 850,000 Virginians — including over 300,000 children — will lose access to these critical benefits due to the ongoing government shutdown, leaving families scrambling to feed their loved ones and innocent children in danger of going to bed hungry.
In Virginia, thousands of children would go hungry if not for government food assistance programs like SNAP, which keeps their bellies full so they can learn and grow.
As pro-life Christians, we believe no child should have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Programs like SNAP are tax dollars well spent, answering God’s call to care for the least of these and ensure every child has the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong.
We pray our leaders will see these children with compassion and do everything in their power to protect funding for food assistance programs and make sure their bellies remain full.
